Pardon Our Dust (And My General Mood)
Yes, we are technically "under construction."
Currently, the grumpycomics.com storefront is a bit like a basement after a flood: there’s a lot of potential here, but at the moment, it’s mostly just me standing in the middle of the room holding a damp towel.
I am working to populate this site as quickly as humanly possible, but let’s look at the logistical hurdles standing in my way:
- The Day Job: A full-time career that involves a staggering amount of travel. I spend more time in airport terminals and generic hotel rooms than any sane person should, usually wondering if I left the oven on or where I put my favorite pair of socks.
- The Household: A wife and four children (ranging from "teenager" to "legal adult") who all seem to require food, attention, and occasional life advice whenever I actually step foot in the house.
- The Menagerie: Four dogs who believe my primary purpose in life—when I'm not in seat 14B—is to open the back door and provide ear scratches.
The "In-Flight" Inventory
While I wait for the internet to cooperate, I am constantly working with the Certified Guaranty Company (CGC) to get the good stuff graded and slabbed. Currently, the following heavy hitters are at the lab, likely being handled by people much more patient than I am:
- The Amazing Spider-Man #21 & #50
- Batman #181
- Detective Comics #175
- Silver Surfer #1 (Signed), #3, & #4
- Tales of Suspense #57
- X-Men #6
Don't Miss the Boat
If you want to be the first to know when these return from their "spa day" at CGC—or when I finally find a spare hour to upload new stock—you should probably subscribe to our newsletter. It’s the easiest way to hear about new inventory before someone else snatches it up. I promise not to clutter your inbox; I simply don’t have the time or the energy to be that annoying.
The Good News:
While I tinker with the plumbing over here between flights, the real action is happening over at my eBay store.
Visit the Grumpy Comics eBay Store
I post 25 new auctions every single week. They go live on Thursday evenings, like clockwork (or at least like a clock that’s been dropped once or twice).
This is all for fun, I promise. So, please bear with me while I balance the comics, the kids, the canines, and the constant jet lag. We’ll get there eventually—and hopefully, we'll all still be on speaking terms when we do.
